A Better Place
As she took the glass, swallowed a mouthfull
lost in the past, ever so remorsefull
the world moves mysteriously, turns beautifully
but yet sometimes, ever so tragically
circumstances change, carrying joy and pain
like winter, when it brings the rain
lacked that certain something, that great british finnesse
lost in a vast ocean of emptiness
kept soldiering on, but one day the mask had to drop
brought closer, by each tick of the clock
heart beating, till the day emotion caused it to stop
now lays shattered, ripped apart
sways with pills and water in each hand, no sound
eyes well up
as her lifeless body, drops to the ground
The pain that sarah once enjured
through death now cured
looks forward to heaven, to start the healing
as numbness deadens the feeling
