Backyard performances

Lets say people decided to host a small gathering in their house, and wanted to host some entertainment, i.e. someone to perform.

I'm looking for a home solution to this, something affordable, nothing too fancy. What sort of speakers/equipment are we looking at, for something like a kareoke performance. Some suitable to use with 2 microphones, and to play some nice party music. I'm not really sure where to start looking.

Any of you guys have any suggestions? Budget would be around $100-150. Not really looking for some high grade PA system, but something less fancy.

Hmm i was looking at something that can be used with a laptop. Is it possible to do so using adobe audition, play live music?

Thats pretty tite how it takes out the vocals... cheap too. You can go wit w/e for doin what your trying to do... I mean it's not like quality or anything is a factor. But as for that lil thang, i'de have some fun with it... Jus cuz I like rappin outa nowhere

I didnt look at much, but i mean all you really need are some speakers, and an amp...dependin on the speakers your prolly gonna need a sub if you bangin out that hip hop shit...but anyways

i know you already copped something, but im sure you could go to your local music store and rent a set-up for a day or 2 for a fair price..

i'm looking for some really simple home-based equipment, don't wanna go all out renting live band equipment that'll most probably disturb the neighbours. as it stands, its just 2 mics, this behringer system, and my friend's hi-fi speakers. theres gonna be 2 rap songs and a singing performance. i'll post up pictures of the event, its gonna look real nice hopefully lol.
