The Sun Will Shine
Perfect sunsets make you cry
I lapped in a thunderstorm last night
I felt at home in the noisy lit up skies
Of my own insecurities
My blanket never questions me
She held me in silence - listening
To the violence of bolted decisions
She’s right - I open up my heart
Without fingerprinting, and then
When I find thieves among my temple
I lose my faith...I stopped praising
Her not so long ago, so she knows
What broken pedestals look like
She knows how to climb, up, in,
& reach me...She’s been bulletproofed
For the bad neighborhoods of my mind
Cloaked in the only ghetto she is familiar with
She loves me despite, leaving her, upscale
And alone - Last night, she offered
To be the pillow I laid my rain upon
I woke refreshed this morning
Determined not to come down again
Not to see a sunset from below
I am the horizon, cause she put
....Her eyes on me! - LedgenZ
Put back your summer hair
It blows just like the ocean air
There's something more behind your eyes
They look just like the morning skies.
Oh, the world spins and our bones ache
Kids don't play and you make a mistake
The world could snap off the vine
And still...
The sun will shine
Your smile these days is oh so grim
Not like I knew, that morning hymn
I just love it when you bat your lashes
They remind me of Sunday morning ashes.
Oh, Kangaroos won't hop and oil can spill
Apples aren't red and cracks wont fill
The world could snap off the vine
And still...
The sun will shine.
Redesign your deserving stare
Your eyes sing like the sweetest prayer
I'm jealous 'cuz your hair's so long
Stringing like the slowest song.
Oh, the music stops and the birds won't fly
The grass isn't green and its cold in July
The world could snap off the vine
and still...
The sun will shine.
You always catch me with that little smirk
It's un doubtfully your most cutest quirk
Hide away your ivory skin
It's begging me; make me sin.
Oh, You could get old and strings will fray
Glass wont break and colors are gray
The world could snap off the vine
And still...
The sun will shine. - Nyce
