Griz & Mach-
Butterflies pollinate
liquid sunshine introduces spring
witness new blossoms
from a honey bee and flower's
mating.
We reap the benefits
of Nature's Economy
let's share the bounty
with neighbors
less fortunate than
you and me
The harsh shudder closes
on the universe's eye,
a blinking sun hangs like a drooped earring
on the trough a bird breaks a twig
for the first time.
a fat brown cat burrows in the garden
digging up carrots and searching
for fresh life
the bubble city, looming
monolithic and godlike
casts the shadow of a hand
over the muscular terrain
its nails, sharp daggers of antenna
eminate waves of quiet terror
up and around the sky
the grass is upturned
and under, the skeleton of a man
that will not decompose
because the Earth has rejected it.
